House

Lime in the groundwater costs homeowners a lot of money and puts a strain on the environment.

In many places, the Danish groundwater has a high content of lime. It can create a number of problems in the house. With a Limescale Crusher©, many of these problems can be avoided.

Are you considering a heat pump or district heating?

Heat pumps and district heating have a heat exchanger or heat tank, where the heat that comes in must be transferred to the hot water in the house.

The surface that transfers the heat must be completely clean, as just 0.1 mm of limescale will reduce the effect significantly. Amtech is in cooperation with district heating plants and heat pump manufacturers to avoid these problems, which can be solved easily and cheaply.

Limescale in pipes and fittings

In the article from the Institute of Technology: "Investigation on physical water treatment to solve limescale problems in water installations" The consequences of limescale in water pipes were investigated. It was found, among other things, that it costs 6 times as much energy to pump 12 liters of water per minute through a 20 mm pipe with 3 mm lime coatings, as it does with a pipe without coatings.

For the private consumer, scale in the water pipes can mean a more expensive heating bill and lower utilization of the hot water system.

Limescale in the washing machine

Chalky water will need more soap to get your clothes clean. Which is not only bad for the environment, but also for your clothes. In the long term, the higher consumption of soap will wear more on the clothes.

Furthermore, limescale in the water can shorten the life of the washing machine, as scaled heating elements require more energy and in the extreme can cause the machine to burn out.

Limescale in the toilet

If the toilet flushes or you have brown deposits, it may be due to a high content of lime in the water. Since the toilet is constantly exposed to water, small scale deposits easily form, where rust and bacteria can settle and form brown deposits. Keeping limescale in the toilet at bay requires frequent cleaning and sometimes cleaning products that contain chemicals that can be harmful to the environment.

Limescale in the bathroom

White spots on tiles, fittings and glass come with a high content of lime in the water. It primarily creates cosmetic problems and can eventually clog the shower head and faucet.

One of the side effects of limescale in the bathroom is the environmentally harmful agents used to remove the stubborn limescale. Limescale remover etc. are often added to other chemical substances that can harm the environment.

Limescale in the dishwasher

If you have white spots on glasses and other crockery, it may be due to limescale in the water. In addition to the cosmetic irritation, limescale in the water can cause poorer washing up. As limescale deposits occur in the water nozzles. These deposits lower the water pressure and mean that the dishwasher does not wash optimally.

Scale in the kettle and coffee machine

Even a thin layer of scale can have a negative impact on the efficiency of your machines and in the worst case it can cause them to burn together.

The Danish Technological Institute has investigated the thermal conductivity of lime in water pipes. The result was clear, a thin layer of lime causes a significant deterioration in thermal conductivity. In the same way, scale in the kettle and coffee machine will result in a reduced ability to heat water. This can mean that the machines have to work harder and can therefore burn out.

The solution from Limescale Crusher©

The Limescale Crusher© is mounted on the outside of the main pipe with incoming water after the water meter, and will from there treat all water in the mains without adding or removing anything from the water itself. If there is a digital water meter without a paddle wheel, it can be fitted before the water meter.

The solution is maintenance-free and uses only a very modest amount of power.

Limescale Crusher© treats water so that the lime in the water precipitates as the more powder-like aragonite instead of the hard calcite. This means that there is still lime in the water, but that you don't have to use both chemicals and knuckle grease for cleaning. In future, the scale will be able to be removed with a clean microfiber cloth, or even just by hand.

In short, a Limescale Crusher helps with a lime-free home.

Customer Testimonials

“I was skeptical when I heard about the Limescale Crusher, but I decided to take the chance and had one installed. The water instantly became softer - I could feel and taste the difference. Now the lime could easily be wiped from everywhere, so I spent the rest of the evening cleaning. My electric kettle has cleaned itself in 2 weeks without acetic acid or anything else, and I also save on cleaning agents. I can't remember the last time I was so pleasantly surprised. I can't quite understand how it works, but it doesn't matter much”

Peter Mols, Hellerup

"I've had it for 11 years and don't want to do without it. It just works, but doesn't clean for me. The limescale becomes like a thin layer, which is easily removed with a green sponge."
